Next we’ll modify the techniques for Modeler and Structure. LightWave shops its options in config (.cfg) information. If you never specify where these are kept, they standard to Records and Settings in Windows or System:Preferences on Apple. It’s better to have the configs located in their own file so they can more quickly be altered and supported up. In addition, you may want to have different configs for different assignments or different installs of LightWave (if you have several variations of LightWave on the same machine).
1. Create a Configs file in your LightWave index.
2. Right-click on the quick way for Modeler and modify the
Focus on to read:
C:\LightWave\programs\modeler.exe -cC:\LightWave\Configs,
transforming C:\LightWave to the travel and index where you have LightWave set
up.
3. Duplicate with the quick way for LightWave, including
-cC:\LightWave\Configs to the Focus on.
Using these techniques, both Modeler and Structure will look
in the C:\LightWave\Configs file for their config information.
If you have been using LightWave for a while and already
have configs that you wish to proceed using, you should duplicate your
established config information to the Configs file.
If you want to use different configs, you can duplicate the
techniques and factor them to a different Configs file, being sure to relabel
the new techniques properly.
